Where a practice publishes prices on Vet Reviews, you can open its profile to see the available information. Otherwise, contact the practice for a current estimate. We do not label a practice the cheapest without comparable price data.
Ask what the estimate includes
Check whether the quoted amount includes the consultation, any recommended tests, medicines and follow-up appointments. Ask which costs could change after your pet is examined.
Check routine and urgent arrangements
Ask about standard appointments, out-of-hours care and any additional fees. Confirm who provides urgent care and how to contact them.
Understand plans and payment options
If a practice offers a care plan or payment arrangement, ask for the total cost, what is included, what is excluded and the cancellation terms before deciding.
Explain budget concerns early
Tell the practice if cost is a concern and ask the team to explain the available options. If you think your pet needs urgent attention, contact a vet promptly rather than waiting to finish a price comparison.
