The practice has gone downhill in the last 2 years or so since the owner retired from practising to concentrate on the business. I lost my dog this year due to the vet not conveying to me that she had a life threatening illness leading me to believe that it wasn't serious. Hence I made the wrong decision to take her home overnight instead of to an overnight vet and to bring her back in the morning. By the next day she was in a collapsed condition and couldn't be saved, so I had to have her put to sleep. My complaint was dismissed by the practice owner who, although not present, supported the vet and disbelieved me. Several comments I made about my dogs' care were ignored and not addressed in the many emails which were exchanged. Two of my dogs had unacceptable annual health checks this year, which missed problems - arthritis in one and severe ear infections in another. The practice owner had known me and my 3 dogs for over 10 years and knew I would never put cost before my dogs' health but he insinuated in his last email that she died because I didn't want to pay for treatment! I paid over £1K for the treatment she did have and would have paid a lot more if it would have saved her life. I feel the practice owner will now 100% defend his vets, even when they make errors or are at fault, in order to protect the business.
