The Hospital for Small Animals is part of the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at Easter Bush Campus, Midlothian EH25 9RG. Its clinical services include the Dick Vet General Practice, specialist referrals, and the Rabbit and Exotic Practice. The latter treats small mammals, birds, reptiles and other exotic animals.

Contact reception on 0131 6507650 to ask about registration, appointments or the appropriate service for your animal. For specialist care, owners should follow the referral arrangements made by their veterinary surgeon. Referring vets can telephone the hospital to arrange emergency and critical care referrals 24 hours a day.

Published reception hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–7pm, and Saturday, 9am–noon. These routine hours are separate from the emergency referral service. Follow the hospital’s appointment-specific instructions before attending.
